Our Piano Moving Services in Mississauga

01

Moving Upright Pianos

The most common type of piano we move is the upright piano. The four main types of upright pianos we see more than others are spinet, console, studio, and professional uprights. Upright pianos are quite heavy, averaging anywhere from 140 kg to 270 kg, and they can be very difficult to manoeuvre. When we move your piano, we tip the upright piano onto a piano board, secure it with straps, and carry the piano through your house without creating markers and scratches on the floors and/or walls, thus being fast, efficient, and tidy in our work.

02

Moving Baby Grand and Grand Pianos

Moving grand pianos involves a totally different type of procedure. Each grand piano has to be taken apart. The legs have to be removed, the lid has to come off, the pedal harp has to be removed, etc. After disassembling the piano, each part of the grand piano has to be wrapped individually in thick moving blankets and packing material before the pieces are loaded into our truck separately. Our team has experience disassembling pianos from all major manufacturers — Yamaha, Steinway, Kawai, Bösendorfer, and others. When we arrive at the new location, our staff will reassemble the piano for you to play immediately.

03

Concert Grand Piano Moving

Concert grand pianos can weigh in excess of 500 kg and will require a larger crew, additional equipment, and detailed coordination. If you are moving a concert grand piano from a concert hall or to a concert hall, community hall, or private residence, please call us directly so we can assess both the location you are moving to and if we have enough staff to properly perform this job.

04

Piano Storage

Do you require a safe place to store your piano before or after your move? Our storage services are available for both short and long-term needs. All of our storage facilities are climate-controlled and will regulate the temperature and humidity for the remainder of the year, so your instrument will not have to sit in a cold warehouse through the harsh Canadian winter.

How the Whole Process Works

01

Get a quote

Call (647) 870-1646 or fill in our online form. Tell us the piano type, pickup and delivery addresses, and any access details. We give you a firm, upfront price.

02

We prepare the piano

On the day of your move, a fully equipped team will arrive to wrap your piano in blankets and packing materials, disassemble the legs, lyre, and lid, and package them separately for your grand piano.

03

Safe transport

The piano will be tied down with tie-downs to secure it in the truck. All of our trucks are outfitted with lift gates so that there is no need to roll the piano up the ramp. Floor protection material will be on both the pickup site and the new delivery site.

Mississauga Neighbourhoods We Serve

We pick up and deliver across all of Mississauga. Some of the areas where we move pianos regularly:

Port Credit — Older homes and newer condos right on Lake Ontario. Narrow streets, parking restrictions near the harbour, and tight interior layouts in the older stock. We know the area.

Lorne Park and Clarkson — Larger properties with long driveways; pianos often on main floors or in finished basements. Basement deliveries in older Clarkson homes need low-clearance awareness.

City Centre / Hurontario Corridor — High-rise and mid-rise condos. Service elevator bookings required. We coordinate with building management and arrive within the booking window. Grand piano in a high-rise? We confirm elevator dimensions before moving day.

Erin Mills and Churchill Meadows — Newer subdivisions with good street access but frequent split-level layouts. Upper-floor pianos get extra crew.

Streetsville and Meadowvale — Everything from 1960s bungalows with narrow halls to recent open-plan builds. We assess before we move.

Mississauga Road/Sheridan — Estate homes, large rooms, pianos that haven’t moved in decades. We take our time and do it right.

Why Mississauga Piano Moves Require Special Knowledge

Mississauga is much more diverse than just a bunch of bungalows arranged on a grid. From stacked townhouses in Cooksville to high-rise condos in City Centre, to big detached homes in Lorne Park, to semi-detached homes in Malton, all of these types of housing make Mississauga an interesting place to move a 300 kg piano from one residence to another.

When it comes to condo buildings, elevators are limited to certain weights, lobbies can be tight with very sharp turns, and service elevator bookings must typically be made several days prior. With respect to older homes in Port Credit or Streetsville, the doorways and staircases were not designed with pianos in mind due to their size.

We have handled all of those situations and have a variety of equipment to assist us in transporting pianos safely and securely. Our movers have piano skid boards for tight hallways, heavy-duty moving blankets to provide a protective barrier around the piano and protect furniture and other items in transit, packing materials to shield each surface, and straps and dollies designed for the weight and size of your grand piano.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to move a piano in Mississauga?

Moving an upright piano in Mississauga costs $360. Baby grand and grand pianos start at $450 but depend on their size, accessibility, plus the distance to be moved. When you book your move with us, we give you a defined quote for the cost up-front; the quoted price will be the same at the time of booking as it will be at the time of moving, unlike the many vague estimates you may get, which often change when the moving date arrives.

Do you move pianos in Mississauga condos?

Yes! We move dozens of pianos into condos every week. You must reserve the service elevator for moving a piano with the building management prior to your moving day. Once you arrange with your building management for the service elevator, we will confirm with you the scheduled time for us to arrive for your appointment. Elevator dimensions will be confirmed for baby grand pianos before the move for all condos above the ground floor.

Is moving a piano really that different from moving other furniture?

Very different. A piano requires specialized equipment, specific disassembly knowledge, and a team trained in heavy lifting and balance. Grand pianos have dozens of delicate parts that must be removed, wrapped individually using proper packing materials, and reassembled correctly. A general moving company with no piano experience is a risk to the instrument and your home.

Do you disassemble the piano before moving it?

Grand and baby grand pianos are always disassembled before the move by removing the legs, lid, lyre, and pedal box; each piece will be wrapped securely for transport. An upright piano will generally be serviced on the piano board without being disassembled. The specific method used to accomplish your move will be discussed during the booking process.

How long does a piano move in Mississauga take?

A local upright piano move usually takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, including pickup, transport, and delivery. Grand piano moves take 2.5 to 4 hours. Condo moves with elevator waits, or long-distance moves, will take longer.

Is the piano insured during the move?

Yes. Every piano we move is 100% insured throughout the process. If something were damaged, we would cover repair or replacement costs. In six years of operation, we’ve had zero damage claims.

How do you make the move stress-free?

We handle the whole process end to end. You don’t need to organize anything except the booking. We will provide all the moving equipment and tools, wrap and protect everything with moving blankets and packing supplies, communicate with the condo management or landlord concerning moving in or out of a condo building, and provide you with a fixed quote so there are no surprises.

Do you offer piano storage services in Mississauga?

Yes, we have a climate-controlled storage area for both short and longer-term use. The temperature and humidity inside the building are regulated year-round — this is especially important for musical instruments during the winter and summer in Ontario.

What piano brands do you have experience with?

We have moved pianos made by Yamaha, Kawai, Steinway & Sons, Bösendorfer, Bechstein, Petrof, Heintzman, and Mason & Risch, among others. We also have experience moving pianos purchased from local retailers, including Merriam Pianos. Even if you do not see a particular brand listed, please contact us.
