We don't charge by the hour: our quotes are based on the piano job scope. Stairs past two flights, elevator-only buildings, and long carries cost extra. We name the amount when we quote, so you can weigh it before you book.

Your Piano Move, Week by Week

  1. A week before

    Book the date. Most local moves can be booked 3–5 business days out, though weekends go first. Tell us about the stairs, landings, and elevator at both addresses; if the route looks tricky, send us photos of it before we quote, so we can plan the move. In a condo, book the freight elevator through your building's management and send us the slot. We sort out the rest with the building.

  2. The day before

    For an upright, lock the key cover and clear a path from the piano to the door. For a grand, take everything off the lid. That's all the preparation you need, since wrapping, packing with specialized packing materials, and disassembly are our job, and we can also help with additional services if you need extra preparation or storage-related support.

  3. Moving day

    We wrap the piano in moving blankets, secure it with padded straps, use specialized equipment and piano boards, and put skid boards under it. Grands are taken apart; uprights travel standing up. At the new address we unwrap the piano, put a grand back together, check that everything works, and place it where you want it.

  4. After the move

    Wait until the piano has settled into the temperature and humidity of its new room before you book a tuning. Moving shifts the string tension a little even when everything goes right. Ask us for a tuner's name if you don't have one.

Yes, we offer year-round piano moving services in Richmond Hill.
